Cuisine

Unlike classic minced meat manti, this special manti prepared with rice filling represents the transformation of dough into art in Bartın culture. The pre-cooked rice filling is placed inside thinly rolled dough and closed in a triangle shape. It has a very light taste compared to other manti types across Türkiye. It is also sold as handmade dried manti in local markets located on the map location.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Preparation

  1. Knead a firm dough with flour, egg, and water, then let it rest.
  2. Sauté rice with onions and cook halfway with a little water to prepare the inner filling.
  3. Roll the dough thinly, cut into squares, place the filling, and fold into triangles.
  4. Boil in salted boiling water, then serve by pouring melted hot butter over it.
