Terrain

Paul Valley (Vale do Paúl), contrary to the general arid image of Cabo Verde, is a lush green canyon that stays vibrant all year round. Located in the northeast of Santo Antão island, the valley is wedged between high mountain slopes and enjoys a rich agricultural diversity thanks to its microclimate.

Tropical fruits such as coffee, sugar cane, banana, mango, and papaya are grown throughout the valley. The traditional alcoholic drink 'grogue', made from sugarcane, is produced in local distilleries here. Trails built on the slopes offer unique vistas for hikers.
