Zini Hamursuz holds a very special place among the traditional pastries of Usak. The crushed poppy seeds and tahini used generously in the filling give this pastry a unique aroma. Ingredients
- 5 cups of flour
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1 cup of crushed yellow poppy seeds
- 1/2 cup of tahini and vegetable oil
Preparation
- Knead a soft dough with flour, yeast, and warm water, and leave it to ferment.
- In a bowl, mix the poppy seed paste, tahini, and vegetable oil to prepare the filling.
- Divide the fermented dough into balls, roll them out thinly, and spread the poppy seed mixture over them.
- Roll the dough into a log, wrap it around itself, place it on a zini tray, and bake until golden brown.
