With a history of over a century, Karabuk Walnut Halva is an indispensable treat for religious holidays and special occasions in Karabük culture. It is prepared entirely with natural ingredients, without any additives, by beating with paddles in large copper cauldrons. You can locate the historical halva shops in the bazaar to buy this product on the Map. It differs from other tahini halvas across Türkiye with its hard texture and intense walnut flavor.

- 500 g granulated sugar
- 250 g Karabuk walnuts
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon soapwort extract
Preparation
- Boil sugar and water to prepare a dense sugar syrup.
- Add soapwort extract to the syrup and whip rapidly until it turns white.
- Slowly add warm tahini to the mixture and knead by folding with a paddle until it reaches a halva consistency.
- Add a large amount of crushed walnuts and mix homogeneously.
- Pour into molds and press, then slice and serve after it cools down.
