The coastline of Tuzla is one of the unique locations within the Marmara Sea due to its indented bays and natural harbor structure. Having one of the longest coastlines in İstanbul, the district is rich in marine ecosystem and coastal geography. For detailed location, check the Map section.
Natural cliffs and sandy areas extending along the coast have shaped the topography of the region from past to present. Due to the microclimate effect created by sea waters, the coastline also hosts endemic coastal plants.
