Landscape

Tuzla Cape, locally known as Monastery Cape, is a geomorphological formation that directly shapes the marine morphology of the Tuzla district. Preserving its current shape thanks to layers accumulated by currents and erosion-resistant rock structures, the cape is one of the most wind-exposed points in İstanbul. Its exact geographic position can be viewed via the Map.

The sea depth around the cape increases abruptly, which concentrates coastal currents at the tip of the cape. The natural coastal ecosystem of the region has acquired a unique rocky structure under the influence of harsh sea waves and wind.
