Traditionally baked in stone ovens in Sivas, katmer contains plenty of butter. You can consume this flavor hot in old bakeries located in Map locations in the city center and see its difference from other katmer in Türkiye.

Ingredients

  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 pack of fresh yeast
  • 200 grams of melted butter
  • Flour and salt as needed

Preparation

  1. Milk, water, yeast, salt and flour are mixed to knead a soft dough.
  2. The dough is divided into balls and rolled out thinly.
  3. Melted butter is spread on the rolled dough and folded.
  4. Egg yolk is brushed on top, light cuts are made with a knife, and it is baked until golden brown.
