Cuisine

This bread, produced collectively by women especially in the rural areas of Baliseyh, is indispensable for Kırıkkale tables. The dough prepared with natural flour and yeast is baked by sticking to hot tandoor walls. You can find production points via the Harita section.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram of wheat flour
  • 1 pack of fresh yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • Lukewarm water
  • Yogurt or water for the top

Preparation

  1. Sift the flour into a large bowl, open the center like a pool and add yeast and salt.
  2. Add lukewarm water and knead a soft dough with an earlobe consistency.
  3. Leave the dough covered for about 1 hour to ferment.
  4. Tear pieces from the fermented dough and open them into a round shape with your hands.
  5. Bake by sticking it to a preheated traditional tandoor wall or a high-heat oven stone.
