Cuisine

Flour halva, one of the most rooted flavors of Baliseyh culinary culture, is prepared by roasting flour with butter for a long time. It is also well-known throughout Kırıkkale. It is frequently offered during local events in the central squares you can find in the Harita section.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 125 grams of butter
  • 1 tea glass of vegetable oil
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of water or milk

Preparation

  1. Prepare the syrup by mixing water and sugar in a pot and bring it to a boil.
  2. Melt the butter and vegetable oil in a large non-stick pan.
  3. Add the flour and roast over low heat, stirring constantly, until the color darkens and it smells aromatic.
  4. Slowly pour the hot syrup into the roasted flour and stir rapidly to prevent lumping.
  5. Continue stirring until the halva absorbs all the syrup, then let it rest and serve.
