Grape leaves grown across Tokat are known for their thinness and sour taste. Locally produced cracked wheat or rice is used for the filling. Ingredients
- 500 g Tokat grape leaves
- 2 cups of rice or cracked wheat
- 2 onions
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- Olive oil, mint, black pepper, salt
Preparation
- Wash the pickled leaves in hot water to remove excess salt.
- Chop onions and sauté in olive oil, then add tomato paste, rice, and spices to prepare the filling.
- Place the filling inside the leaves and roll them tightly.
- Place the rolls in a pot, add water and olive oil, and cook over low heat.
