Cuisine

Known for its Karaburun and Yeniköy beaches stretching along the coastline, Arnavutköy holds a distinct place across İstanbul for seafood. Fresh seabream caught in season is marinated only with olive oil and rock salt, then cooked over oak charcoal. You can check the precise locations of the seaside restaurants from the Harita tab. This distinguished fish of Türkiye's seas turns into a unique dinner when combined with the clean air of the district.

It is usually served alongside fresh greens and purple onion slices grown in the region.

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh seabreams (cleaned)
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of rock salt
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

Preparation

  1. Make two deep incisions with a knife on each side of the cleaned seabreams.
  2. Mix olive oil and rock salt, rub it thoroughly inside and outside the fish.
  3. Place rosemary sprigs and lemon slices inside the cavities of the fish.
  4. Cook on a hot charcoal grill for about 10-12 minutes on each side until the skin is crispy.
