Tartufo di Pizzo is the world-renowned certified dessert of the Vibo Valentia province. It features a heart of molten chocolate sauce inside artisanal hazelnut gelato. Authentic gelaterias are marked on our Map.

Ingredients

  • 250g Hazelnut gelato
  • 250g Chocolate gelato
  • 50ml Liquid chocolate sauce
  • 50g Cocoa powder
  • 15g Ground cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Take a scoop of hazelnut and chocolate gelato in your hand and make a well in the center.
  2. Pour the pre-chilled thick chocolate sauce into the well.
  3. Carefully close the gelato around the sauce to form a sphere.
  4. Roll the ball in a mix of cocoa powder and cinnamon, then freeze until serving.
