Cuisine

It is prepared by spreading local Posof butter between thinly rolled dough layers and folding them. Cooked slowly on a metal griddle, this crispy pastry is distinct within Türkiye. Refer to the Harita section to find bakeries.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram of flour
  • 2 cups of warm water
  • 250 grams of melted local butter
  • 1 dessert spoon of salt
  • Half a tea glass of vegetable oil

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, water, and salt to form a soft dough.
  2. Divide the dough into balls and roll each out very thinly with a rolling pin.
  3. Spread melted butter over the entire layer and fold it.
  4. Slightly flatten the folded dough and cook both sides on a traditional griddle.
