Cuisine

The Gianduiotto was born in Turin when chocolatiers substituted expensive cocoa with local ground hazelnuts. Today, it represents a gold standard of confectionery in Italia.

Ingredients

  • Roasted local hazelnuts (finely ground)
  • High-quality cocoa mass
  • Cocoa butter
  • Powdered sugar
  • Natural vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Grind the roasted hazelnuts until they form a completely smooth, oily paste.
  2. Combine melted cocoa mass and butter with the sugar and hazelnut paste.
  3. Temper the chocolate mixture well to achieve a glossy finish.
  4. Mold into the traditional upside-down boat shape, let cool, and wrap in gold foil.
