Cuisine

Served since the 18th century in the cafes of Turin, Bicerin is a true cultural staple. The layers of espresso and chocolate are topped with cold cream, traditional to Italia. Drink it without stirring to experience the contrast of temperatures.

Ingredients

  • Freshly brewed espresso
  • High-quality dark hot chocolate
  • Fresh heavy cream or whole milk
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)

Preparation

  1. Pour the hot drinking chocolate into the bottom of a clear glass.
  2. Gently layer the freshly brewed espresso on top of the chocolate.
  3. Carefully spoon lightly whipped cold cream or milk foam as the top layer.
  4. Serve immediately without stirring to maintain the temperature contrast.
