Cuisine

Frequently baked in Canik homes during holidays and special occasions, nokul stays fresh for a long time. It differs from other variants across Türkiye due to its thin dough; you can check the Harita tab to see its availability in local bakeries.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of ground walnuts
  • 1 cup of raisins
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, yogurt, oil, and baking powder to obtain a dough of earlobe consistency.
  2. Divide the dough into balls and roll them out thinly using a rolling pin.
  3. Brush the rolled dough with oil and sprinkle the mixture of walnuts, raisins, and sugar.
  4. Roll the dough into a log shape, slice it, and bake in the oven until golden brown.
