Cuisine

Generally consumed alongside fish and meat dishes, this salad is enriched with fresh garden greens from the Ulus region. This world-famous visual feast of Bartın cuisine is prepared by combining at least 10-15 types of ingredients with vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. Ingredients

  • 1 small lettuce or curly lettuce
  • 1 tomato and cucumber
  • 1 carrot and red beet (grated)
  • Quarter bunch of parsley and arugula
  • Olive oil, apple vinegar, and salt

Preparation

  1. Wash and dry all the greens thoroughly, chop finely, and spread them on the base of the serving plate.
  2. Cut tomatoes and cucumbers into aesthetic shapes and place them on top of the greens.
  3. Arrange the grated carrots and beets in strips around the edges of the plate to create a color harmony.
  4. Drizzle the mixture of olive oil, vinegar, and salt over the salad as a dressing and serve.
