Aksaray Sikmasi is made by wrapping local tulum cheese or curd cheese with butter inside hot flatbread cooked on a griddle. Ingredients
- 4 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon of yeast
- Warm water and salt
- 200 g Aksaray tulum cheese
- 50 g butter (room temperature)
- 1 finely chopped onion (optional)
Preparation
- Knead a soft dough with flour, yeast, salt, and warm water, then leave to ferment.
- Take pieces from the dough and roll them out to medium size using a rolling pin.
- Cook the dough sheets on a hot griddle or non-stick pan on both sides.
- Spread butter inside the hot bread immediately and add the cheese filling.
- Roll the bread tightly and serve hot.
