Karaman Guymak dessert is an established recipe prepared to give energy, especially during winter months. It should not be confused with the savory kuymak of the Black Sea region; this is a completely sweet Karaman delicacy. Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • Cinamon for topping

Preparation

  1. Mix granulated sugar and water in a bowl to dissolve the sugar (prepare syrup without boiling).
  2. Melt the butter in a large pan and add the flour.
  3. Constantly roast the flour over low heat until its color darkens and it smells aromatic.
  4. Slowly add the prepared syrup to the roasted flour, stirring quickly. Once thickened, transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle with cinnamon.
