Consumed especially in summer as a refreshing meal, Batirik is frequently offered to guests in Karaman homes. The roasted peanuts inside give the dish its characteristic flavor. Ingredients
- 2 cups fine bulgur
- 1 cup roasted peanuts (ground)
- 1 onion
- 2 tomatoes and cucumbers
- Half a bunch of parsley and mint
- Pomegranate syrup and cold water
Preparation
- Soak the fine bulgur with a small amount of hot water and let it swell.
- Add finely chopped onion, ground peanuts, and tomato paste to the bulgur, kneading thoroughly.
- Add finely chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, and mint to the mixture.
- After adding pomegranate syrup, add cold water to bring it to a soup-like consistency and serve cold.
