Ingredients

  • 1 kg fresh Chinotto citrus fruits
  • 800g sugar
  • 500ml water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Whole cloves

Preparation

  1. Wash the fruits and soak them in salted water for a few days, changing the water frequently to reduce bitterness.
  2. Boil the sugar and water together to create a thick syrup.
  3. Add the spices and fruits to the syrup, simmering gently until the citrus becomes translucent.
  4. Pour into sterilized jars for long-term preservation or use as an aromatic syrup base.
