Scazzetta, the masterpiece of pastry shops in the historical center of Salerno, takes its name from its resemblance to the red hat (galero) worn by Catholic bishops. It features special pastry cream and fresh wild strawberries between soft sponge cake layers. The top is covered with a bright red strawberry glaze. You can check the Harita tab to find the locations where you can taste the most authentic examples. It is a special taste that dessert lovers should not miss during their travels in Italia.
