Cuisine
Unlike semolina or flour halvas across Türkiye, this dessert is prepared with a thick molasses or sugar syrup poured over flour roasted to a special consistency. Crushed Tillo walnuts added to it double the flavor and nutritional value of the dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of wheat flour
- 1 cup of pure grape molasses
- 100 grams of butter
- 1 cup of crushed walnuts
- 1 cup of water (for syrup)
Preparation
- Melt the butter in a large pan, add the flour, and roast, stirring continuously until the color darkens.
- In a separate bowl, mix grape molasses and water, heating gently to create a syrup.
- Slowly pour the molasses syrup over the roasted flour and stir quickly to blend it in.
- When the dessert thickens and comes together, add the walnuts, shape, and serve hot or warm.
