Sazlidere is a natural stream extending along the western borders of the Başakşehir district, shaping its agricultural history. The surroundings of the stream bed host wetland ecosystems and serve as an important stopover on the migration route of migratory birds. The alluvium carried by the stream formed fertile lands in this part of Türkiye's Marmara region in past years.
