About

Built in 1271 during the Seljuk era by Muzaffer Burujirdi, the madrasa is located in the city square of Sivas. It is one of the most symmetrically planned Seljuk madrasas in Türkiye.

Constructed for the teaching of positive sciences, the Buruciye Medrese stands out with the simplicity and elegance of its stonemasonry. As a main stop of cultural tours in Sivas, this structure features a classic open courtyard and four-iwan plan. The tomb section contains the grave of its founder.
