Terrain, waters and landscape
Forming a transition toward the Sele River basin, this section of the plain is the flattest area of the otherwise mountainous Salerno geography. Nourished by alluvium carried by local watercourses, these lands have enabled fertile agricultural activities throughout history. To examine the expansion area of the plain relative to the city center, you can look at the Harita section. The plain embodies the typical characteristics of coastal plains in Italia.
