Timeline, heritage and stories

Heritage

Begun in 1297, Palazzo Pubblico was the seat of government for the Republic of Siena. It contains Ambrogio Lorenzetti's famous frescoes of the 'Allegory of Good and Bad Government'. This majestic example of secular architecture in Italia, together with the adjacent Torre del Mangia, defines the city skyline. Its location is accessible via the Harita tool.
