Kavakli Coast contains ruins witnessing the socio-economic history of the Beylikdüzü settlement, which was a small fishing village in the past. Old pier structures and coastal fortifications show the extensions of İstanbul coastal trade in its rural hinterland. The area is protected today and used for recreational purposes.
