Terrain
The foothills of Karduz Plateau, which remain within the administrative borders of the Merkez district, are a geographical plateau with high potential for winter tourism and highland activities. In this tier where the altitude approaches 1800 meters, the harshest phase of the Black Sea climate is experienced. The vegetation consists of coniferous trees and wide alpine pastures.
The highland plains host a rich meadow flora that revives with the melting snow in the spring months. The snow depth can reach two meters in winter. To examine the topographical map of the region, the Map panel on the page can be viewed. This plateau is an important link in the western Black Sea highland belt of Türkiye.
