Traditionally prepared at homes, Bünyan Manti is a dish that requires mastery due to its extremely small folding shape. The filling prepared with minced beef, finely chopped onions, and local spices is meticulously placed inside hand-rolled dough squares. This delicacy, prepared by local women collectively, is the crown jewel of dinner tables.

The boiled manti is served by pouring sumac, red pepper flakes, and garlic yogurt over it. Ingredients

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 200 grams of lean minced beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper and salt
  • Butter and tomato paste for the sauce

Preparation

  1. Knead a firm dough using flour, egg, water, and salt, then let it rest.
  2. Mix the minced beef, grated onion, salt, and black pepper to prepare the inner filling.
  3. Roll out the dough balls to pastry thinness and cut into tiny square pieces.
  4. Place a tiny amount of filling into the center of each square, pinch the four corners together at the top, and boil in salted water.
