Heritage

The Büklükale Archaeological Site is established at a strategic point right next to the Kızılırmak River in the southwest of Kırıkkale province. Archaeological excavations in this area within the borders of Karakeçili have revealed important architectural remains and tablets belonging to the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period and the Hittite Empire. Controlling the east-west transit route in ancient times, this fortress holds great significance for the archaeology of Türkiye.
