About

Timeline, heritage and stories

Heritage

As one of the pearls of Seljuk architecture, the structure is the most valuable part of the urban identity of Niğde. The 'Crowned Woman's Head' shadow that appears on the eastern gate of the mosque with the angle of sunlight during summer is one of the most famous stonemasonry legends in Türkiye. The mosque remains open for worship and visits today with its original wooden minbar and robust stone structure.
