Yakakent Stream

Originating from the mountainous areas in the interior of Yakakent, the Yakakent Stream flows through the district center into the Black Sea. It is a vital water resource on the western coast of Samsun.

Yakakent Stream carries fertile alluvium along the Yakakent valley with increased flow during winter and spring. Agricultural activities are concentrated around its riverbed. Representing the coastal stream typology in Samsun, it contributes to the hydrological balance of Türkiye's Black Sea basin. You can view its estuary via the Map.
