Terrain, waters and landscape
Pontinha Point has a tough geological structure consisting of solidified basaltic lava flows. Thanks to this cape, the port area is shielded from the rough waves of the Atlantic, creating a safe anchorage zone. You can use the Harita space to observe the extension of the cape into the sea. The cliffed coastal layout, showcasing typical erosion patterns of Cabo Verde shorelines, is clearly visible here.
