Buyuk Karapinar Historical Fountain

Located in the old settlement areas of Başyayla district, this historical fountain carries Ottoman period architectural elements. It is among the cultural assets of Karaman.

The Buyuk Karapinar fountain is one of the important water structures in the local history of Başyayla. Meeting the water needs of the local people for centuries, the fountain was built with cut stone craftsmanship. Reflecting the stone masonry tradition in the Karaman region, this monumental structure is a fine example of traditional neighborhood fountains in Türkiye.
