Ala Mosque

Located in the center of Kadirli, the Ala Mosque is one of the most important historical heritages reflecting the Roman, Byzantine, and Turkish-Islamic synthesis of Osmaniye.

Originally a Roman basilica, the building is a wonderful example of typical spolia and multi-layered architecture in Türkiye. Converted into a mosque by adding a minaret and a mihrab during the Dulkadirids era, it is now the center of Kadirli's cultural heritage.
