Terrain

Achada Baixo represents the high plains of the São Domingos region. These types of lava plains, called 'achada' in the Cabo Verde islands, feature steppe and shrub vegetation exposed to wind erosion.

The plateau takes on a semi-desert appearance during dry periods, while turning briefly green with the rains. You can check the Map panel to see the exact boundaries of the plateau.
