Identity, location and daily life
Overview
Located on the western side of İstanbul, Esenyurt is a prominent residential and commercial district known for its modern urban expansion and dynamic daily life. The geographical characteristics of the area are deeply influenced by the Esenyurt Çatalca Plateau Southern Slopes and the hydrological grid integrated by the Haramidere (Esenyurt Branch), defining the physical boundary of the location. For open-air leisure, the prominent Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Park offers extensive social spaces and green valleys for the local population.
Geography and Municipal Infrastructure
The urban landscape sits partly across the plains of the Esenyurt Basin Alluvial Plain, creating a vast network of modern housing developments and industrial sectors. Cultural activities are primarily clustered within the municipal complex of the Esenyurt Cultural Center. Additionally, the regional geo-thermal sources are active at the Esenyurt Thermal Natural Spring Pool, providing access to therapeutic mineral waters within the city boundaries.
